The Ship, by Stephen Sturgeon is a compact paperback volume of poetry. This fine press edition is comprised of thirty-six poems from the perspective of an American journeying endlessly on a talking river through lands with few and inconsistent physical laws.
The Ship measures 4.5 x 7 inches and is 42 pages long. Text is hand-set in 12-pt Centaur, letterpress printed on Hahnemuhle Biblio paper, and hand-bound as a long-stitch in a paper case. The cover of each book features a collaborative monoprint made by the author and the artist during a read-aloud session of the poems of The Ship. A second monoprint is on each title page.
The Ship was printed in an edition of 80 signed and numbered copies in 2014.
